چکیده
Abstract The paper provides evidence against the claim that perceptual access is commonly encoded in direct evidentials. While visual, auditory, tactile and olfactory perception are conveyed by evidentials contexts where such interpretations appropriate, others it speaker’s involvement, affectedness established beliefs which conveyed. These may be exclusive to speaker or shared addressee. Instead of information source, argued some encode epistemic authority regarding an event based on their primary relation event. Epistemic concerns rights over knowledge therefore a relational concept captures dynamics between speech act participants terms representation attribution. Support for this argument comes from diachronic development evidentials, effects co-distribution person marking (egophoricity), patterns use. Data literature evidentiality frequently cited languages Tucanoan Quechuan feature well-described, rich evidential systems.

متن کاملProblems with the Seeing = Knowing Rule
The view that children understand the mind via a coherent theory is supported by evidence that children rigidly follow a Seeing = Knowing Rule: seeing, and only seeing, leads to knowing. This paper presents two kinds of evidence that children do not follow this rule. First, we critically review previous findings that children neglect the role of inference and argue that these studies do not in ...

The aim of the current study was to investigate whether phonological/semantic processing of the word takes place simultaneously with, or following, the early processing of its visual features. Event related potentials (ERPs) were recorded in thirteen dyslexic (4 female) and fourteen non-dyslexic (6 female) native English speaking young adults in two lexical decision tasks. متن کاملSeeing without knowing: task relevance dissociates between visual awareness and recognition.
We demonstrate that task relevance dissociates between visual awareness and knowledge activation to create a state of seeing without knowing-visual awareness of familiar stimuli without recognizing them. We rely on the fact that in order to experience a Kanizsa illusion, participants must be aware of its inducers. While people can indicate the orientation of the illusory rectangle with great ea...

Recent studies revealed that although subterranean mammals inhabit a dark underground environment, they can still perceive light stimuli and use this to entrain their circadian activity rhythm. Regarding spatial orientation, olfactory and tactile cues are employed for short-distance; whereas for long-distance, subterranean mammals employ the earth's magnetic field and self-generated (vestibular...
